This week's dispatches from the Ministry of Intrigue

Hello, faithful reader.

We published the following fresh dispatches this week:

Weeknotes for 2024-04-05

April 3, 2024, 3:14 p.m.

At this rate I might have to rename this segments to “Monthnotes”. So let’s at least talk about the last two weeks, shall we?

So, here’s what’s been going on in everything Daniel:

  • Took some PTO to spend time with the fam, which was great.

  • Released a new open source Django app: django-markov.

It provides tools for generating and saving Markov text models to the database for use in sentence generation. It’s extracted and improved from the work I’ve already done on django-quotes because I found myself needing to reuse that functionality for another hobby project. The next step is to refactor django-quotes to use it under the hood as well.

  • Explorers Wanted

  • Released two new episodes of our podcast:

    • 222: Familiar Places: To escape the realities of Lathe, the crew revisits old conquests.

Watch on YouTube: "Familiar Places (Episode 222 Teaser)"

    • 223: Past is Prologue: The crew’s past gives glimpses of their future.

Watch on YouTube: Past is Prologue (Episode 223 Teaser)

  • We reached a big milestone that we’re excited about: our downloads have surpassed the gamer number!

Screenshot on purple background showing podcast metrics. Total Downloads show a value of 69,420.
    Yes, we are children.
  • Finished watching season one of the live-action One Piece on Netflix, which was so good.

  • Did some spring cleaning.

  • Played around with some Indieweb concepts like Microformats and webmentions. These probably deserve a blog post of their own.

Probably a bunch of other stuff I’ve completely forgotten about too!

And that's it!

Grave dust and falling leaves.
