8: Never have I ever! (Surprise announcements inside)

Greetings and Salutations!

Welcome to this month’s episode of The Lemon House Monthly, your home for all things weird and wild from the mind of comic book writer and karaoke expert Andrew Leamon.

Let's get down to business…

Happy April! It’s been a good month. I hope you’ve also had a good month. And SURPRISE! I actually have exciting announcements in this month’s newsletter for a change.

So let’s talk about it!

/ I’M TABLING!

So in some amazing news, I will be officially tabling not at one BUT TWO EVENTS this year!

Free Comic Book Day - 1st Saturday in May - www.freecomicbookday.com

Howling Pages - Saturday, May 3, 2025 from 12-3pm (FCBD!)
Address: 4354 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60641

Howling Pages - Graphic Novels, Indie Comics, Printed Art

My first (official) tabling AND Free Comic Book Day signing!

Howling Pages has long been one of my favorite comic shops on the planet. I reached out back in January to see if I could table, and I got accepted! Technically, this isn’t my first time tabling there. I shared a comic signing event with Wells Thompson, Dalton Shannon and Alex Breen back when I only had digital comics to my name, but I didn’t have anything to sell or sign. I will be at the store on FCBD with some wonderful fellow indie comic creators. Come by and say hello!

A hand holding up wrapped prints of We The Dreamers.
Ain’t she a beaut!

Bring your copies of Radiant Black #22 or volume 4 of the trade, and I will be happy to sign them! I will be handselling copies of CAMERA MAN #1 to the masses and handing out a free print of my comic, WE THE DREAMERS. Some of you may remember the one-page Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening fancomic I made with the wonderful Ben Humeniuk. (It won a Grantie Award. <3) It’s never been printed before, so I’m excited to debut it. I just received the prints in the mail, and she’s a beaut!

Heroes Convention banner with the tagline "America's Favorite Comic Convention", the dates of June 20 through the 22nd and with the web address www.heroesonline.com

HeroesCon - June 20-22, 2025
ADDRESS: Charlotte Convention Center
501 S. College St, Charlotte, NC 28202

Never have I ever tabled at a comic convention before! I will be sharing a table with Alex and Wells. It’s going to be a tight fit for all three of us, so I won’t be able to bring too many copies of CAMERA MAN and WE THE DREAMERS. But I’ll still be selling my books and telling everyone about Alex and Wells’ great books as well. I’ll let you know where exactly we will be located later. I’ve heard so many amazing things about HeroesCon, so I’m excited to finally go!

See you for FCBD at Howling Pages and HeroesCon!

/ C2E2

C2E2 was amazing! This was exactly the weekend I needed. I was honestly nervous to walk around and socialize, but everyone couldn’t have been sweeter. So many warm hugs and sick fist bumps were exchanged. I can’t wait to table at this show someday soon!

I handed out copies of Camera Man to creator friends as a thank you, and everyone seemed jazzed about it. Shout out to my friends and peers I got to catch up with!

An extra sweet bonus was that I was able to attend the Massive-Verse meetup on Saturday night and chat with some great folks. Chainsaw Man became a topic of conversation that night, because I have a brand to maintain! And a special shoutout to Kyle and the Massive-Verse folks for putting on a great party! (Side note: You’ve gotta pre-order that sick tokusatsu take on Batman! I know I will.)

A cover image of Batman a flying Batmobile along with the title Immortal Legend Batman, the creative team (Kyle Higgins, Mat Groom, Erica D'Urso, Becca Carey, Dan Mora) and the release date of August 2025.
Hell yeah.

/ CAMERA MAN #2 UPDATE

Here’s another exciting update:
We’re ready for art!

Just this morning, I got the thumbs up from our editor, Frank, to proceed to art! Xander and I packed a lot of story and character into 32 pages. Lucky for me, I’m a step closer to getting Xander’s stunning art in my eyeballs before anyone else. I can’t wait!

Onwards and upwards!

/ PUPDATE

Every month, I have to make the most difficult decision. I have to choose my favorite Ruthie picture for the entire month. But every picture of Ruthie is my favorite picture of her. She’s very photogenic.

Ruthie burrowed into blankets on the couch. Her face peeking through as she looks at the camera.
Shoutout to the wonderful photographer, Ash!
