Fog, Friction, and the Dark Forest
I wrote this week on the Dark Forest and the internet. I finally had a chance to read this essay collection, and it got me thinking a bit on Clausewitz and competition in an adversarial environment. It’s up in a somewhat unedited form at the moment, so will be finalizing it over the weekend.

I was on a vacation of sorts last week, so skipped the last newsletter to focus on kid time.
I’m working on bringing Knowsi back from the dead. If that’s of interest to anyone, please send me a note
Last month, I started playing hockey again for the first time since I was a kid. Taking my own son out on the ice was an absolute joy, and discovered that the Copenhagen Falcons had a “give it a try” team. Anyway, I’m now on the ice three times a week at utterly ungodly times.
I’m going to start returning to some articles and editing them down, so will add modified timestamps to things. After a clear my current todo list, I intend to revamp the site a bit.

This article on trust, reputation, and compound interest was super interesting. I enjoy the metaphor of filling the tub (though one then wonders about evaporation).
I’ll be attending a few of these events for the Protocol Symposium. Worth checking out of you agree with my conclusion to this week’s essay.
I’m signed up for Map Camp this week as well. I find the Wardley mapping world to be pretty useful, so will report back.
