Climbing Down into the Canyon

Notes from Josh

It's been - checks calendar - a while since I sent one of these emails to you all. You look well.

As usual, I’m publishing a lot on my website. I’m sending this email as a summary and enticement to explore. Follow your interest, follow a link and browse at will.

I recently went on another dangerous and beautiful hike: The Grand Canyon Royal Arch Loop. Here’s one photo (click the link to see more):

Hiking the Grand Canyon
Walking the Grand Canyon

Aside from climbing down and up the real-life canyon, I have been researching and building a whole lot of software around the zeitgeist of large language models (like ChatGPT). This part of technology is moving so fast, I feel like I’m riding a rockslide down the canyon wall again. It’s incredible to see what’s possible compared to just a year ago, and I’m leaning into it. I’ll be writing more soon about what I'mm learning at work on this new, raw, metaphorical energy.

Aside from other travel, I’ve been protesting, and going to a few concerts, reading more photography books, and watching some good movies. Reply with any recommendations if they remind you of something.
