10:11:20pm 1/31/2023 Suspicious Vehicle Elmwood Twp., Caller reporting a barn being built to the east of the residence. She sees a vehicle parked there right now and does not think anyone is working tonight so no vehicles should be there.
Wednesday, Feb. 1
6:01:43am 2/1/2023 Medical Alarm Empire Twp., Fell and needs help.
5:43 p.m. — Centerville Township — Toyota Corolla off the road and into the water. (One in custody for operating while intoxicated.)
8:41:14pm 2/1/2023 Noise Empire Twp., Pounding noise next door and howling.
Thursday, Feb. 2
7:10:44am 2/2/2023 Road Hazard E Harbor Hwy & S Maple City Rd., Deer in the middle of the road.
9:34 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller was evicted in January. Landlord threatened to sell belongings. Changed locks.
Friday, Feb. 3
8:03:25am 2/3/2023 Motor Vehicle Crash E Cherry Bend., Witnessed a vehicle hit mailboxes around corner.
9:57:02am 2/3/2023 Motor Vehicle Crash Leelanau Cty., Driving when the wheel came off. Vehicle went across the road and into the snow bank across the road and into the snowbank on the other side. Bingham on scene and has vehicle.
9:57 a.m. — Kasson Township — Caller was driving a Jeep when the wheel came off. Vehicle went across the road and into the snowbank on the other side.
10:37 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller was evicted from residence. Had to move out. Tried to get more things but landlord says they can’t come back and says they would be selling her belongings online.
Saturday, Feb. 4
3:41:28pm 2/4/2023 Vehicle Ditch N West Bay-Shore Dr., Vehicle was forced off the road by an inattentive driver and went into the ditch. No contact was made and no damage suffered. Bingham arrived on scene.
7:05 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller advised she went to church earlier tonight and when she returned she noticed that a cooler that was in her house is now missing. (Cooler was later found.)
Sunday, Feb. 5
4:52 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller was walking by structure and saw a major flow of water coming from both floors. No one at home. Need to make entry. Needs law enforcement. (Entry made. Water turned off. Neighbor made contact with homeowner and is briefing him on the situation.)
Monday, Feb. 6
1:05 a.m. — Cleveland Township — Young people from out of the area got their vehicle stuck back on Bash Road. Caller is unable to remove the vehicle without a bulldozer.
10:26 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Identity theft. Someone used caller’s identity to take out a loan at credit union.
5:53 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Man wrapped in bandages walking/jogging in traffic. Has a bunch of cloth wrapped around his head. Wearing a red T-shirt.
7:22 p.m. — Empire Township — Neighbors are harassing caller by driving in his driveway and near his mailbox. Packing down snow so caller can’t plow his driveway. Ongoing issue.
Tuesday, Feb. 7
12:18 a.m. — Solon Township — Landlord’s son installed cameras in caller’s apartment. Caller can hear him in the attic space talking about seeing what the caller is doing while watching him through the cameras.
1:37:43pm 2/7/2023 Animal Control Maple City, Dog at large, unable to locate dog, will be in the area looking.
2:50 p.m. — Cleveland Township — Theft of guitar and lederhosen. Guitar has been found. Still looking for lederhosen.
Wednesday, Feb. 8
7:49:16am 2/8/2023 Driveoff Lake Leelanau, Silver station wagon, pump 5. Update: driver came back and paid.
8:31 a.m. — Leelanau Township — One car rollover. Driver feels injured.
9:50 a.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller ordered a kitchen remodel in June. Paid $9,000. Caller has asked for proof that they are waiting on materials. No contact since November.
2:54:00pm 2/8/2023 Alarm Holdup Leelanau Cty., Spoke with staff, denied hitting panic button.
Thursday, Feb. 9
4:28:01pm 2/9/2023 Sick Person Leelanau Cty., Woman walked into fire hall, isn't feeling well. No transport.
8:50 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller is reporting a darker SUV “lurking” around his house. It has driven past multiple times and even pulled into his driveway once. Caller does not need to been scene but would like the area patrolled. (The vehicle driver is a brother looking for his sister who ran away. Sister is 18. He is not, however, reporting her missing.)
Friday, Feb. 10
3:08 a.m. — Solon Township — Caller struck telephone pole in his 2003 Ford Explorer. Car can not be driven. Dad is on the scene.
2:32 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Miscellaneous juvenile activity.
Saturday, Feb. 11
9:15:07am 2/11/2023 911 Hangup Empire Twp., Benzie County transfer for 911 hangup, plots on Gilbert. Immediate voicemail on callback, no response. Negative contact on property.
7:29:17pm 2/11/2023 Unknown Problem N West-Bay Shore Dr., Security can see a female down on the ground at the lodge on the camera. Unknown problem.
9:56 p.m. — Elmwood Township — BMW X5 with Winter Wonderland license plate. Going at least 130 mph on M-22.
Sunday, Feb. 12
12:41 p.m. — Leland Township — Caller hit a deer this morning. Didn’t want to report it because he wanted to go ice fishing.
6:26 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Neighbor is on vacation. Dogs are continuously barking. Another neighbor is sitting for the dogs and horses. Caller talked to them about barking dogs. Two dogs. Fenced in but very loud.
1-:56 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Subject is upset that ex-boyfriend was using her name and was attempting to get into her lottery winnings. After speaking with caller, she doesn’t want a report filed. She was provided with identity theft resources to local identity.
Monday, Feb. 13
8:49:45am 2/13/2023 Animal Control Large S Lake Leelanau Dr., Dog at large.
12:20 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Daughter and caller going to pick up belongings. Parties are being and caller is being allowed to recover her things. Should any further assistance be needed, they’ve been instructed to call directly.
4:45:22pm 2/13/2023 Suspicious Vehicle Cedar., Rear window broken, mirrors off, no plate. No one around. In a driveway where no one lives. Tracks are fresh. Driven with flat tire and extensive damage.
4:53 p.m. — Centerville Township — Husband is angry with caller. Stopped the white Hyundai SUV. Threw the keys in the bushes and took off walking northbound on French Road.
5:19 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Strange fingerprints on caller’s truck window when the light hits just right. Would like a deputy to observe it first hand.
6:48:21pm 2/13/2023 Dispatch Deer Cedar., A truck just hit a deer at the end of the caller’s driveway. It is still alive. Driver did not stop.
8:16 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller is seeing two lights directly west of his location in the sky over the Manitous. The lower one seems to be moving around a lot. Should be checked out. (Law enforcement saw nothing suspicious.)
Tuesday, Feb. 14
7:32:52am 2/14/2023 Motorist Assist E Traverse Hwy & S Cedar Rd., 45-17 called out with a Republic Services garbage truck broken down, blocking the turn lane. Truck is able to move in reverse so the driver moved it off the road the best he could, trying to work on marking it off. Truck is off the road, it has its hazard lights on and is flagged off, a mechanic is enroute from Manistee.
11:47:34am 2/14/2023 Traffic Violation Greilickville., Check on a motorist on a moped running along the shoulder.
5:03:35pm 2/14/2023 Warrant Arrest Empire., In custody, GTCO warrant.
6:43:24pm 2/14/2023 Car Deer Leland., Hit a deer, it ran off, Sienna.
6:51:15pm 2/14/2023 Car Deer Lake Leelanau., Hit a deer in his red GMC Acadia.
7:13:03pm 2/14/2023 Car Deer 204 and Tamarck., Hit a deer in his grey Audi Q5.
7:33:41pm 2/14/2023 Car Deer Cedar., Hit a deer in his burgundy 2005 Chevy Crew Cab 2500.
8:16:59pm 2/14/2023 Commitment Suttons Bay., Left caller a message 1.5 minutes long, sounded like he was outside saying strange things, Mike has depression.
Wednesday, Feb. 15
3:06 p.m. — Kasson Township — Law enforcement taking possession of firearm that the family no longer wants.
Thursday, Feb. 16
4:29:55pm 2/16/2023 Motor Vehicle Crash Glen Arbor., School bus hit the wall, part of the wall fell down.
7:11 p.m. — Glen Arbor Township — Caller is stuck on Miller Hill in her work vehicle and her company has been working on getting her help. However, a male in a white Equinox showed up and advised he was sent by Affordable Roadside Assistance and Safe Road Rescue. Caller advised that her company did not send them and she feels uncomfortable.
Friday, Feb. 17
8:54 a.m. — Leelanau Township — Patient hasn’t shown up for appointments. Can’t get in touch with him or any of his family. Concerned for his welfare. (Per deputy, he is fine. Just forgot his appointment.)
6:51 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller was babysitting. In the cherry orchard across from the house, there was a blue older-style Chevy Blazer. Backed in about 20 yards. (Tire tracks in the orchard, but no vehicle per law enforcement.)
7:33 p.m. — Suttons Bay Township — Caller reports an individual and his friends are harassing her.
8:47 p.m. — Centerville Township — Someone sent text to caller that be would burn the caller’s house down.
Saturday, Feb. 18
4:56 p.m. — Bingham Township — Ford Explorer. Driver smoking a joint. No license plate on vehicle.
11:48 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Car in the middle of the road going 20 mph. (Road rage incident, per law enforcement.)
11:49 p.m. — Elmwood Township — Caller received a text from an individual who was concerned about a group of girls “coming after” his girlfriend.
Sunday, Feb. 19
5:58 a.m. — Bingham Township — Truck parked at the boat launch for multiple days. (Deputy made contact, truck owner has been ice fishing on the lake the past couple of days. He’s OK.)
12:44 p.m. — Bingham Township — Subject was supposed to pick up wife from church and never arrived. When she called him, he said he was lost. (Male was located.)
6:47 p.m. — Leelanau Township — Caller thinks someone hit her car while she was away.
Monday, Feb. 20
4:58 p.m. — Centerville Township — Caller is being threatened again. Deputy went to check on caller. No one at residence. (There was a text exchange. Caller knows he can reach out if he needs assistance.)
