It's been 5 years and I made a thing
Hello. Every now and then I log into my newsletter account and there’s a giant banner on the top that says “it’s been x years since you’ve written a message, you should break that streak” and it somehow is the most intimidating thing I’ve seen. That x is now 5, and it feels like there is so much I should be updating people on and so many things I haven’t said, so…I’m not going to think too hard about it! I’m declaring backlog bankruptcy and writing whatever I want, and maybe I’ll actually write more emails??
Anyway, the reason why I finally was able to open up the editor and fire up a new message was: I’ve made a new game! A visual novel, specifically, called Arbiter, Oracle. I’m really proud of it! I wrote it expecting it to be enjoyable to me only, which is how I do all my best work anyway. I’ve been trying to write more, and finish more projects. And share more of my process. Sometimes (not always) I even succeed???
Besides that…well. Where do I begin? Some truly truncated highlights:
I published a Steam game in 2025 called Desert Angels as my first commercial project! It’s a walking sim(?) third person shooter(?) where you blow things up in a desert scrapyard. It’s the biggest thing I’ve completed.
I spent the entire pandemic writing massive amounts of Revue Starlight fanfiction and making no video games.
I am in my 30s now, because time moves ever forward.
I still work in tech which has had its ups and downs. More recently, it’s been a chaotic mess. I’m not fond of the AI craze but I’ll refrain from yelling about it.
Uh…that’s it. What even is time. I left this alone for so long that I think it might’ve also been 5 years since I talked to some of you, because I remain not great at reaching out to people. But that can change! It’s not something that comes naturally to me, but I want to talk to people more and catch up!
