The Promise Letter
Happy Tuesday:),
Does making choices scare you or do they come easily?
A lot of us are indecisive when it comes to the smallest of things and I can’t help but wonder why.
Does choosing which bread you want for the week really warrant indecision? Is hemming and hawing on sticking with a plan that you truly no longer have a desire to go to worth your valuable time?
I’m thinking not. But for so many reasons we are afraid to make choices. We are afraid to commit. From the smallest of choices made daily to the biggest of choices that immediately change your life ( in reality every choice ultimately changes your life, but in a much more gradual process).
But that’s life. It’s made of choices. This series of choices determines how you feel about the person staring back at you in the mirror. Each choice becomes a part of the story that is your life. It’s a scary thing to have the power over your own life. May we all welcome that power with grace and love and begin to make the choices that bring us joy. May we learn to make choices with ease and begin to make the choice from our heart, not external pressures.
I hope you choose to do it now rather than later.
I hope you see the beauty in the wildflower rather than calling it a pesky weed.
I hope you choose the scenic route rather than the fast one.
I hope you choose the raging ocean rather than the still swamp.
I hope you choose the dance floor rather than the seat in the corner.
I hope you choose the honey rather than the bland food.
I hope you choose to see beauty in the sun and the rain, the sunshine and the moonlight
I hope you choose to slow down and enjoy life a little more rather than rushing to the next task
I hope you choose to see the beauty that exists within you
I hope the choices you have made thus far bring you happiness and that you lack regret.
I hope the remainder of the choices you make in life are made by you and not others that tell you how your life should go.
Be proud of the person in your reflection.
You’ve been through a lot and other people don’t know the half of it.
Thank you for being here on this Earth. You make a difference. Now let us enjoy our time here.
Until next week,
Alissa

“It's our choices that matter in the end. Not wishes, not words, not promises.”

Questions I’ve asked myself:
Why do I make the choices that I do?
Do I have the courage to make choices that are guided by my heart?
Queue worthy tune I have on repeat:
