Links and Things That Bring Me Joy
The wonderful Maggie Smith has a new poetry collection coming out: A Suit or a Suitcase.
Shannon Stamey, one of my favorite artists and people, is open to commissions. You can check out some of his amazing work on his Instagram.
Sweet Day has duck eggs full of an Easter mix for the holiday. (I had some last year—they were so good. I ordered more this year, too.) Love, love them!
If you like shiny things crafted by wonderful people, check of Peculiarity Shop! They’re amazing.
Since my poetry collection is coming out in July, you can absolutely pre-order a signed copy from Inkwood Books. (During checkout, in the Instructions/Comments box, write that you’d like it signed and/or personalized and how. Voila!) If you’re outside the US, you can probably call and work out the details on the shipping — but call before placing your order.
Have you seen the cover for Cassandra Khaw’s forthcoming book? It’s stunning.
If you’ve got a couple of bucks and want to do some good, check out this community-run website.
I drafted two new poems this week. One of which I just emailed to a dear friend for eyes. It’s funny how some poems just fall right out of your head. And then the other one, I had to chase around with a mallet.
And, lastly, it’s been a week. Just communication has gone sideways. I missed the deadline for something potentially cool. I got knocked on my ass. A lot. (Figuratively.)
I’m tired and tired of everything, which is a whole mood—and one I know a lot of people can relate to. So, please remember to eat/drink water, take your meds, and find a moment to be silly. Even amid the horrors. Your heart needs lifting.
May light find you, darlings. And failing that, may you be that light for others who feel like the world is all dark. May kindness find you when you need it most.
And remember that love is the answer and the reason for most things. XOXO
