Italy's CIAL reported an overall aluminium packaging recycling rate of 69.5% for 2025—exceeding the EU's 50% target—with beverage cans reaching 92.8%, up 5.5 percentage points year-on-year; 65,000 tonnes of aluminium were recycled, a 42% increase from 2024, saving an estimated 460,000 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent.

Novelis angle Italy's high UBC recycling rate strengthens feedstock availability for Novelis's Pieve Emanuele and Bresso plants, directly supporting the 3×30 recycled-content targets and its closed-loop partnerships with Italian can-makers.
