Greetings from All Saints

Update: I am hearing that some people did not receive this week's newsletter. We're trying again! Apologies for any inconvenience (not that I have any idea what caused it)! All the best,

Kyle+

Our Thursday lineup

Due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts, we will not meet this week for Bible study or prayer. But put next week in your calendar: 18 April at 18:00! But on the topic of Thursdays, every first Thursday of the month will be a gathering of the various faith communities who worship at Vrijburg. The trial run last week was wonderful, and one of the Vrijburg pastors shared this poem:

AN INVITATION TO BRAVE SPACE Together we will create brave space Because there is no such thing as a "safe space" - We exist in the real world We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds. In this space We seek to tum down the volume of the outside world, We amplify voices that fight to be heard elsewhere, We call each other to more truth and love We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow. We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know. We will not be perfect. This space will not be perfect. It will not always be what we wish it to be But It will be our brave space together, and We will work on it side by side. by Micky Scott Bey Jones

What is Abundance?

Mpho put the question to Hans, and here's what he said:

Hi Mpho,

have now time to answer you. Just got home from a day in The Hague with XR trying to tell our government to (at least) stop subsidising the fossil industries.

And my answer to your question would be: aside from feeling blessed with abundance in having a loving spouse and four children, I have an experience of spiritual abundance when participating in these XR activities.

By times I am sceptic, even cynical, about global development but when I am amongst my fellow “Rebels” I am reminded of the idea that “another world is possible”.

I see and feel it in how the activists (and the organisation as far that there is an actual organisation) look after each other, give space, support, understanding, cooperation, in short nothing but good things. People that would normally not meet or speak, live completely different lives and differ in age, personal circumstance etc somehow are in complete agreement: not only on the topic at hand, but also in how we would like to treat each other and be treated.

Thank you Hans!
