Two months old

It’s August now, which means The Phoenix Pencil Company is two months old! 🎂 It’s been a wild ride that started off with PPC being chosen as the June Reese’s Book Club pick! The RBC team has been so cool to work with, and their belief in the book really means so much.

Around the world

And as of 7/31, the UK edition of The Phoenix Pencil Company is also available! I’ve had friends spot this edition in Paris and Jakarta as well so it’s really getting around!

Especially cool is this window display hanging out at Booka Bookshop. I’m so honored that PPC is their August book club pick, and that Martha Clark created this amazing display!

There is also a special edition UK version of the book through Goldsboro Books. It’s got stenciled edges and really cool foiling on the book itself.

Lookin’ sharp!

Also, the Dutch edition of the book is now available! De Phoenix Potlood Firma!! It’s cool to see how they were able to adapt the North American cover into another language. Thank goodness for O’s!

There’s a few more international editions on the way, which I feel so lucky/grateful for. I’m spoiled!

Events

I’ve got a few events lined up:

  • WorldCon in Seattle 8/13-8/15

  • New Hampshire Book Festival 10/3-10/4

  • Morristown Festival of Books 10/11

  • Miami Book Fair 11/22-11/23

Hope to see some people at these!!

Book recs

The August Reese’s Book Club pick is none other than my friend Ashley Jordan’s Once Upon a Time in Dollywood!!! I finished reading Once Upon a Time in Dollywood a few days ago and found it incredibly moving, romantic, and healing. I hope you’ll check it out too!

I also recently enjoyed Susanna Kwan’s Awake in the Floating City. It’s melancholy and meditative and features a beautiful caretaking relationship that pulled all of my heartstrings.

The fur collected after Peach’s brushing the other day. It’s been a hot summer!

Seeya later!
