Some Suez Canal business
I don't know if you saw this nonsense, but people were blaming Egypt's first woman ship captain for the Suez Canal blockage. Where was she? Yes, that's right, 200 miles away in Alexandria.
The captain, Marwa Elselehdar, became the first Egyptian woman ship captain to cross the Suez Canal in 2016. Since then, photoshopped headlines and fake social media accounts have popped up blaming her.
Elselehdar attended Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport and then decided to study at the Department of Maritime Transport and Technology, where she was the only woman out of 1,200 students.
It's not a huge shock that this happened, but it remains Extremely Stupid that it did. But great job, Marwa Elselehdar, for deciding to go ahead and do the career you wanted to do when there wasn't a path for it yet. It is extremely cool.
