It's the witches one!
Today’s “Women’s History. But FUN” is about witches because I decided it would be. So! Here are some famous witches! As listed on witchcraftandwitches.com.

The Witch of Endor. Ok, so the Witch of Endor has a super cool name and is from I Samuel in the Old Testament. Yes, part of her name is also featured in Return of the Jedi. But for our current purposes, she was used to SUMMON THE GHOST of the prophet Samuel (omg ghosts, also like in ROTJ – this means something) appx. 3000 years ago. The day after this, the king who had her summon this ghost died. The Witch of Endor probably lived on and kept summoning ghosts.

Walpurga Hausmännin. Chosen again for her cool name, Walpurga Hausmännin lived in Bavaria and worked as a midwife. She was accused of sorcery because the 16th century was frequently a bullshit time, and under torture she was like “once, my co-worker came over to bang, but a demon showed up instead so I banged that.” Which it’s like. How did you not know that was fake, torturers. I frequently relate to people of the past and their idiot decisions (“if she weighs the same as a duck, she’s made of wood”) but this is a bridge too far. You don’t just go like “oh the guy I was gonna sleep with didn’t show up, but here’s this demon instead, so sure.” Anyway. Hausmännin was burned at the stake, which is terrible. She’s mainly on the witch list so we can all reflect on the terribleness of witch accusations, because they happened elsewhere than Salem.

Marie Laveau. We all know about Marie Laveau, right? 1801-1881 in New Orleans. She practiced Voudou in the French Quarter and apparently had a big snake named Zombi, which is kickass. She helped sick people during the Yellow Fever epidemic of the 1850s (don’t live in swamps! unless you really like them!) and was also a hairdresser. All the facts I have read about her are cool. She’s also played by Angela Bassett on American Horror Story: Coven, which is extra cool.
Happy International Women’s Day Eve, and to all a good day!
