Parental Leave - Week 6
Greetings!
I am now on the second part of my parental leave for Jonathan, which will take me through the beginning of August. I will be providing weekly flash updates on how things are going!
My iPhone reports a noticeable increase in steps over the last 6 weeks. I wonder how that happened?
We decided to cancel our trip to Sun Lakes this weekend. Between Amelia's stomach bug and our trip to LAX next week, the thought of trying to squeeze it in just felt like too much.
Jonny:
- Jonny continues to be a pleasure in the mornings. Since Amelia is in a science day camp while her school is on break, and it goes until 3 pm, I've had more time to spend with him.
- Jonny is just on the brink of crawling. He gets into the position and sort of wiggles about. He just needs to figure out the motions to move forward.
- Despite not quite yet crawling, he is very mobile. He's sort of like a snake in that you're not really sure how they're moving themselves forward, but whatever the physics involved, he is disturbingly quick.
Amelia:
- It took longer than expected, but Amelia has gotten over her stomach bug.
- Amelia went to Kids Science Lab for the later part of the week.
Me:
- Finished 2010: Odyssey Two
- Started Second Foundation
- The additional time with Jonny, and the fact that Amelia thinks I am a human jungle gym, has really started to take a physical toll on my body. Lots of neck and shoulder pain this week. I found the time this week to treat myself to a massage, but a long term cure that is not.
- Finished my next Substack post, but I'm hoping it will grab more readers if I wait until after the holiday to publish.
And as I mentioned before, please shoot me an email if you'd like to grab brunch one of these mornings.
