What do you talk about in the kitchen? šļø
Where I introduce my new podcast.
Hi everyone, itās Monday. And you look great today.
This is Afirmativo!, where I send updates about articles that I publish on my blog and share things that have been on my mind lately.
Et tu, Brute?
If youāre a longtime reader of this newsletter, you may remember that last summer I recorded my parents in an interview.
I really enjoyed the experience of scripting, recording, and editing two episodes, and I decided to consider those pilots for a real podcast.
Itās called La Cocina. I get interesting people to invite me to their place. I bring my mics, and we spend about an hour in their kitchen getting to know them better.
In the first episode, I visit JosƩ Luis GimƩnez del Pueblo, one of the legendary designers who shaped my world.

Pepe has a super interesting story: he spent his early years in the USA along a brilliant cohort of design professionals, and then went on to create some of Spainās most recognizable visual identities, before being forced to pivot his career into... but I'll save the spoilers.
A teaser for the first episode is already out, and I will start publishing the podcast in the spring.
So go ahead and subscribe:
FAQ:
ā You too? Yes, me too.
ā Another podcast? Yes, another podcast.
ā Is the podcast in English? No, itās in Spanish.
ā Does the podcast have a website? Yes, it does! At lacocinapodcast.com āglad you asked, I almost forgot!
Should I switch?
Hereās a confession: sometimes I donāt feel very confident writing this newsletter.
English is not my mother tongue (narratorās voice: āIS IT NOT?!ā), I consider myself far from being bilingual, most of my subscribers are Spanish speakers, and I often link to content thatās in Spanish.
So why do I do it?
First and foremost, I enjoy using English and itās a way of practicing it. Itās my free writing assignment.
Second, it allows me to have (a handful of) people who donāt necessarily speak Spanish sign up and stay connected.
And third, I already told you two reasons so donāt be rude and quit insisting.
But today I was about to write this email in Spanish and officially announce my thousands dozens of subscribers that I was making the switch.
Do you have an opinion? Iām not sure I want to hear it, but you can hit reply to this email and itāll get to my inbox.
Thatās all for today.
Have a nice week!
Alberto
