Free book promo, catching up, and cat tax
Hi friends! It’s been a while since I sent out a newsletter, but I have some fun things for you.
First! SEEDS OF INHERITANCE is in a sapphic SFF book promo, where you can get FREE BOOKS for the low price of signing up for the authors’ newsletters. There are a lot of great books in the promotion, by authors you might want to follow. Check it out!
Next, let’s talk about writer’s block. As a result of, well, [gestures vaguely] the world right now, medical nonsense, and nigh-constant goblins in my head, I’ve been dealing with writer’s block on and off for a while. It’s frustrating. Demoralizing. Genuinely painful.
The worst part is that it always feels like it’s my fault. It’s hard to dip into the creative well when you feel like you’ve poisoned it yourself.
But! I think I’m finally climbing my way out of it. I finished a short story for the first time in literal years. I’m working on the sequel to SEEDS, and I’m back to drafting another novel about twin sisters, an alchemist and an astronomer. My delightful critique group has been so supportive. Even though the recovery from block has been frustrating and slow, it’s the right pace for me, and I’m glad I’m seeing progress.
And now, as promised, the cat tax:
