What a show (March)! What a SHOW(April)! What a show(?)!!
HELLO MY GOOD FRIENDS AND STRONG PEOPLE HELLO!
I give you a sweet, simple email to carry you into the weekend! In it I will briefly remember our March show, then tell you about our April show, then recommend a cool show hpapening this weekend online!
If you got other things to do, please do them first. If you’re watching a tv show and felt your phone vibrate and are like “oh shit is this urgent?”…It’s not urgent! Watch your show in peace! Enjoy doing one thing at a time. Maybe change your phone settings so you aren’t getting a notification for every email cos that’s stressful and only serves the bosses. And please come out to Airhorn April 4th, but otherwise frickin’ unplug.
On the other hand: if you got the time and you wanna read an email? Well then let’s frickin’ do this, brother.
Our March Show!
What a show that Fringe Fest Friday Night Fight Night was, aye? We had laughs, we had drama, we had the Newtown City Council going through a table, and we had a sickening amount of ketchup sprayed all over the green room. Literally sickening, I can’t look at or smell the stuff now!
We also got the endorsement of the Wellington mayor herself.
This has been something we’ve been looking for since the very first Airhorn, and so feel quite validated. Check it out below!

We’ve now had a couple of weeks to recover. My recovery was three-step: First I sat in my room, in the dark, and muttered “damn…damn…” for days while thinking about the show. Then, I went to the ocean, looked out at the endless water, and muttered “Damn…DAMN!” while thinking about my life. Then, I gave the Airhorn gang a call and asked, “Should we put on another kickass show?” to which they all replied “YES ABSOLUTELY!” and I shed a tear (I cry when excited) when I thought about our bright future and whispered “Let’s do this.”
Our April show!
O! What a show we have for you in April! It’ll be like the wrestling shows they do right after a PPV: a nice reset, with new faces and stories and styles.
For performers, we have favourites like Anna Maclean, Booth the Clown, and Mogz plus fan favourite from our Fringe show Liv Ward. Plus we are welcoming the incredible Lily Catastrophe and Kipling DC for their Airhorn debuts. And hosting it all will be me, Zach Mandeville. It’s gonna be a danged delight!
You can buy tickets here: https://kiwiticket.co.nz/events/airhorn-april-04-04-2025
And if you want some fun creative havoc before the 4th, and also maybe don’t wanna leave yr house, then I got an Airhorn-aligned recommendation for THIS SUNDAY…
Doof Duck and Friends!
If you like the sweet sounds of our resident DJ and tech maestro, DJ BBGUN, then you’ll be stoked to know she’s playing a weird ass show this weekend in, of course, an online-only underground cyber-rave: Doof Duck and Friends on cyberdoof.com.
Cyberdoof is a blissfully weird space that friends of mine(including DJ BBGUN) are building. It gives me that good html feeling, a nostalgia for the internet we imagined before there was the internet we got. It’s beautiful, idealistic, endlessly creative and probably unprofitable like all the best art.
This Sunday at 3pm, they’re putting on a rave at a custom-built cyber doof— with sets from DJ BBGUN, Blegg, and Intersekt. You can dance and explore and reek havoc in an emphemeral, custom-built 3D art space/fast-food-joint while listening to internet mutant music. It’s going to be a blast!
That’s all, good bye!
I promised you a simple newsletter and I hope you feel I’ve followed through on this promise. See you online on Sunday, see you in person on April 4th, and hopefully see you in my dreams every single night in between!
