New Year, New AWOOOOGA: It's AIRHORN BABY!
Hello dear friends and fans of the hottest comedy show in Newtown!
Hell, prolly the hottest show in the greater Newtown/Kilbirnie/Hataitai area. That's right, it's AIRHORN!
I am chuffed to invite you to our next outing: 7th of February at the Newtown Community Centre…or as I call it “heaven on earth”.
I hope this email finds you well. I hope you enjoyed this absolute cracker of a day, hope you hopped off work early and hit the beach and saw some friends there, and you made concrete plans to grab dinner and now you’re home, listening to some good tunes on some earbuds you thought you lost but just now found in your pocket and you thought “God, can this day get any better? I know, I’ll check my email!” and BOOM, that’s how this message found you! Because your day IS gonna get better when I tell you about the lineup for the next outing of our award-winning comedy show.
HOLD UP, AWARD WINNING?
That’s right! Airhorn won “The most Innovative Show” at this years Wellington Comedy Awards. The Wellington Comedy awards are basically the NZ equivalent of the Nobel Prize, so it was quite an honour to receive a nomination, let alone the prize (a decorative yellow gumboot). Our Airhorn crew was quite well-represented across the awards, to be honest, and we’re happy to announce that, alongside Airhorn’s honours, Booth won comedian of the year, Lesa won MC of the year, and Hoani won breakout star. Wowza!!
This is what I’ve been trying to tell you every newsletter, that we are gathering the literal best comedians in the greater Wellington area to entertain you, and now we have objective proof of this. What more do you want? You want more proof? Fine, CHECK OUT THIS LINEUP:
Check out this lineup!
Alayne Dick!
Booth the Clown!
Ginge & Minge!
Hoani Hotene!
Lesa MacLeod-Whiting!
Special guest PATCH LAMBERT!
And hosting it all is your humble newsletter writer, editor, distributor, and star: Zach Mandeville!
You can't get any better! Truly! I mean, a better comedy show is possible, in the quantum sense, but it's only theoretical and the theories only work if you put in some "magic numbers" to get the equations to balance out right. Airhorn ain't a theory! It's right here, standing at your doorstep, in the pouring rain, shouting at you that it loves you and that it's Friday, 7 February, 8pm, at Newtown Community Centre.
You gotta be there!
There are still early bird tickets available. Check out https://airhorn.nz!
Bonus Content: some nice recommendations!
Thank you for reading this far. Maybe you are having a great day (as outlined above) but maybe it's not as good as could be. Maybe you're on a bus to Johnsonville that for some reason has the heat on (seriously? Why they all got the heaters on right now?!) and you're bored, but you just turned on a free data hour and wish you had something to watch.
FRIEND, we GOT STUFF for you! Here are some good sketches, standup, clowning, instructional videos, and songs recommended by the Airhorn crew for you. Enjoy!
