Hi, Miss you, Welly full of Laughs
Hello Friends how are you!
Happy Summer! What a cracker today huh? Just kidding, it’s awful! I look outside and just see thick white sky and mist covering the hills all mysterious and romantic. It’s making me feel like I’m in a meditative and subtle film about a relationship and “the things left unsaid” or a town harboring a mid-century secret that’s affected three generations of the titular clan. I don’t want to be in an ethereal film with a resonant ending, I wanna be at the gotdam beach!
I’ma be honest with you, I don’t really have anything AIRHORN related to say. We are going to be back next month (February 20th) for an incredible Fringe Fantasia, but that’s so far away and I missed talking to you. This email is the equivalent of when you call someone and go “Oh, did I happen to leave my jacket at your place?” But you know you didn’t, you’re looking at your jacket, you just wanted to hear their voice.
That’s all, how are you doing?
OH! But! If you miss our cute faces too, I DO have something to tell you! There is going to be an incredible show NEXT Friday at the Hannah Playhouse, filled to the g.d. BRIM with the best comedians in Wellington. It’s called Welly Full of Laughs. It is being produced By Austin Harrison and Airhorn star Nina Hogg (Ginge of Ginge and Minge) and stars so many of the Airhorn folks you know and love (including yours truly) plus Lesa, Booth, Jak, Lily, Minge and Ginge (of Ginge and Minge), Mo Munn, Keegan Thomas, Trent Baumann, AND MORE? YES AND MORE!!
It’s going to be a sleek and sparkling celebration of Wellington’s great comedy scene with everyone doing their best stuff (cos it’s being video taped). I recently got a ride from Nina (after the Airhorn crew did an escape room together for our holiday party) and her car was filled to the brim with buckets to the point of passenger discomfort. The trunk was filled, the backseat was filled, they were nearly obstructing vision. I asked what the buckets were for and she said, “Welly full of Laughs of course!” I don’t know what this means, but goshdang it got me excited! Come for the buckets, stay for the laffs!
Anyway, I hope you’re well, and excited to see you next Friday, and/or on Feb 20th, or maybe we’ll just see each other randomly at New World and catch up. What I’m saying is I’m around!
