Turn any 50-page report into a 1-page brief (2 minutes)
Hi there,
Last week: meetings to action plans. This week: long documents to short ones.
Trick of the week: 50-page report to 1-page executive brief in 2 minutes
You get a 50-page analyst report, a regulatory filing, or a competitor's annual report. You need to brief your board in 10 minutes. Here is what to do:
- Download the PDF
- Upload it to Claude.ai (drag and drop, free account handles up to 30 pages per file, paid account handles 100+)
- Paste this prompt:
Read this document. Create a 1-page executive brief with: (1) the 3 most important findings, (2) what changed compared to the previous period, (3) what this means for our business specifically, (4) one recommended action. Keep it under 300 words. Use bullet points, not paragraphs.
Result: A structured brief you can forward to your board, print for a meeting, or use as your own talking points. In 2 minutes instead of 45.
The trick that makes this work: The prompt says "what this means for our business specifically." Without that line, you get a generic summary. With it, you get analysis. The AI connects dots between the document and your context. If you add one sentence about your company ("We are a EUR 200M industrial supplier in Germany competing with [X]"), the brief becomes even more specific.
Works for: - Analyst reports and earnings transcripts - Regulatory filings (annual reports, 10-Ks) - Competitor press releases and strategy documents - Internal reports that nobody reads past page 3 - Due diligence packages
Cost: $0 (free Claude account handles most documents, ChatGPT and Gemini work too)
Time to learn: 0 minutes. Upload, paste, read.
One report per day x 40 minutes saved = 13 hours per month you get back. That is a full working day and a half, every month, doing nothing except reading smarter.
That's it for this week. One trick. Two minutes to test it.
If you don't want these emails, reply "stop" and I'll never write again.
