💬 X launches standalone XChat app on iOS
X has officially launched XChat as a standalone iOS app, allowing users to message X contacts, share files, make audio and video calls, and participate in group chats.
The release of a dedicated messaging app represents a departure from Elon Musk’s original vision of turning X into an “everything app.”
XChat includes features such as disappearing messages, screenshot blocking, message editing and deletion for all participants, and claims end-to-end encryption with PIN protection.
Security experts have questioned the app’s encryption claims, stating that XChat appears less secure than established messaging apps like Signal.

💰 Google to invest up to $40B to Anthropic
Alphabet is investing up to $40 billion in Anthropic, including $10 billion upfront at a $350 billion valuation and up to $30 billion more tied to performance milestones.
Despite being direct competitors in AI models, the deal reflects strong demand for Anthropic’s Claude family, particularly its coding tools, pushing the company’s annualized revenue past $30 billion — up from $9 billion at the end of 2025.
Google Cloud will provide Anthropic with an additional five gigawatts of TPU compute capacity over the next five years.
The investment builds on Anthropic’s existing partnerships with Broadcom, CoreWeave, and Amazon, which recently committed up to $25 billion more in funding.

⚖️ Judge drops Musk fraud claims against OpenAI
A federal judge has dismissed Elon Musk’s fraud claims against OpenAI and Sam Altman, but allowed the lawsuit to proceed to trial on accusations of breach of charitable trust and unjust enrichment.
Jury selection begins Monday, with opening arguments scheduled for Tuesday in what is expected to be a high-profile legal battle between Musk and the company he co-founded.
Musk is seeking $150 billion in damages, with any awarded money directed to OpenAI’s charitable arm rather than to him personally.
The case centers on whether OpenAI abandoned its original nonprofit mission after Musk’s departure.
