🏦 Perplexity Turns Its AI Agent Into a Full Personal Finance Hub
Perplexity has rolled out a new Plaid integration that allows users to securely connect their bank accounts, credit cards, loans, and brokerage accounts directly to its Computer agent, transforming it into a comprehensive personal finance hub.
The integration leverages Plaid’s network of over 12,000 financial institutions to provide a read-only view of users’ financial data. The agent can then autonomously create customized tools such as budgets, net worth trackers, debt payoff plans, and retirement dashboards through simple text prompts.
This launch follows Perplexity’s recent U.S. tax integration, which can automatically fill out IRS forms and review professional tax returns.
As well as Perplexity Computer, which launched in late February, has driven strong growth, helping push the company’s ARR past $450 million in March — a 50% increase in a single month.

🚗 Tesla is developing a new smaller, cheaper EV
Tesla is developing a new smaller, more affordable electric SUV that will be a distinct model from the existing Model 3 and Model Y, according to four people familiar with the project.
The compact SUV is expected to measure approximately 14 feet in length, weigh around 1.5 metric tons, use a smaller battery pack with reduced range, and be priced significantly below the current $34,000 entry-level Model 3 in China.
The project is still in early development, with production planned at Tesla’s Shanghai factory, although the timeline remains unclear. The company has a history of initiating vehicle projects that are later delayed or canceled.

💰 Andy Jassy defends Amazon $200B spending spree
Amazon CEO Andy Jassy defended the company’s planned $200 billion capital expenditure for 2026 in his latest shareholder letter, emphasizing that the investments are driven by strong, verifiable customer demand rather than speculation.
Jassy disclosed that AWS’s AI-related revenue has reached a $15 billion annual run rate, while Amazon’s internal custom silicon business is now generating more than $20 billion in annual value.
The company is considering offering its Trainium AI chip racks and robotics solutions to external customers, continuing Amazon’s established strategy of developing advanced infrastructure internally before commercializing it as a service.

⚖️ Appeals court keeps Pentagon blacklisting of Anthropic in place
A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., has denied Anthropic’s request to temporarily block the Department of Defense’s blacklisting of the company while its lawsuit challenging the decision moves forward.
The court determined that the balance of equities favors the government, noting that Anthropic faces only “relatively contained” financial harm, while the DOD needs access to advanced AI capabilities during an active military conflict.
In a separate ruling last month, a federal judge in San Francisco granted Anthropic a preliminary injunction that prevents the Trump administration from enforcing a ban on the use of Claude.
