⚡PA House Energy Committee to take up interconnection, storage and data-center bills June 17
The Pennsylvania House Energy Committee will consider three measures at a June 17 meeting (10 a.m., Room 523, Irvis Building): HB 2595 (Inglis), setting deadlines for interconnection safety reviews of small-scale energy projects; HB 2380 (Rivera), directing utilities to procure grid-stabilizing battery storage; and HB 2539 (Steele), requiring sales-tax-exempt data centers to obtain energy-efficiency certifications.

Rep. Bresnahan files bill to shield towns that reject data centers from developer lawsuits
U.S. Rep. Rob Bresnahan (R-Pa.; co-op: Claverack) introduced the Local Control Protection Act on June 11, which would protect municipalities that deny data-center applications from federal lawsuits, bar federal permits while a developer contests a local zoning denial, and require legally binding community-benefit agreements as a condition of federal tax incentives.
