Wow. That was a trip.
And here we are back in 2022!
Thanks for joining me on this pop-up newsletter experiment. There were tens of you, and yet I received hundreds of messages from you all. I deeply appreciate the encouragement - this was a lot of work and oh-so-good for the creative soul, but it is also lovely to be reminded that I’m not just shouting into the void.
Some folks have asked where they might peruse other works of mine. There are the photoessays on my website, but the better answer is: they’re coming. Ideas have been percolating for years that are starting to come into their own.
Books are my ultimate goal, but in the meantime I have more experiments I intend to run as I continue to point myself in that direction. We’ll see what it adds up to - maybe instead the work will morph into an esoteric TikTok dance…give the people what they want, right?!! (Gads I hope not. These legs aren’t made for dancing. Let me spare you from that visual).
Fortunately, you (yeah, you!) give me hope that there is still interest in longer form content, so that in itself encourages me to create it. Never mind the readers who’ve asked if I will make this available as a real, physical book for you and others you’d like to gift it to (short answer: probably, though as fodder for developing a more realized version).
If you aren’t already, I invite you to stay in touch beyond this experiment by subscribing to my main newsletter, Intersections. It is monthlyish and everything under my “personal work” category stems from there, so you can stay in the know (on top of, you know, enjoying the missives as well). It’s not spam, I promise.
And if you feel so inclined, drop a donation in the PayPal hat over here. A huge thank you to those who’ve already done so - it makes the work feel a bit more sustainable and worth the effort.
So that’s that! This is the planned end of whatever it happened to be - something that would never have been unless we started it together. Thank you thank you thank you.
Be well / Keep in touch / Deep bow,
D
