December Updates
Another month, another newsletter update! This month was a bit odd for me creatively. The apartment below mine is being renovated, and the noise has definitely impacted my creative output. I’ve mostly been taking it easy by listening to a lot of music and working on my website.
This past month, I listened to Red (Taylor’s Version) by Taylor Swift quite a bit. I’ve really been enjoying hearing all the unreleased tracks, including the 10-minute version of “All Too Well.” There were lyrics in the extended version that reminded me a lot of my novel We Go Together, and the past relationship that haunts the protagonist Kat. In fact, a lot of Red reminds me of We Go Together, which was a fun discovery. When I wrote the novel, I wasn’t a big Taylor Swift fan, but her songs are so massive and inescapable, they undoubtedly inspired my subconscious.
Have you had a chance to read We Go Together yet? What song connections would you make?
This December is sure to be hectic, with the holidays approaching and my family coming to visit me. I’m aiming to revise some older compositions and hopefully upload the scores for purchase via Sheet Music Plus. So far, I have two pieces up for sale using that platform, and I’d like to have more in the coming months. I have all this completed music just sitting around. Might as well do something with it!
I hope you all have a pleasant December and holiday season. I can’t wait to talk to you all again in the New Year.
With love,
Abigail
