Hey everyone! I’m here with a special announcement.
My third poetry collection, Bad Vibes Only, will be released on April 30th!
April is National Poetry Month, and I thought there was no better way to spend the month teasing (and releasing) some poetry!
This collection has been in the works for over six years. Some poems were taken from a scrapped collection from 2019-ish, while others were written during a major life change and set aside for many years. Combined with some more recent poetry and arranged in a loose narrative, it’s the culmination of many different versions of “me,” all rolled into one.
While the title suggests a negative tone, and there certainly are many negative emotions expressed within the pages, the collection ends on a hopeful note. It’s ultimately about moving past negative experiences and toxic positivity.
I am very proud of this collection. I feel it has some of my best poems to date, but you can be the judge of that on April 30th.
The cover was shot and designed by Cristina Nikolic. It’s Cristina’s third cover she’s designed for me and fits perfectly with its poetry sisters.
While all three collections are different, I feel they are linked. They all came from a specific few years of my life when I wrote a lot of poetry. It’s been so interesting to revisit this work with a more experienced lens and find the words the younger me was trying to say all those years ago. All this to say, this third collection can be viewed as the final volume in a trilogy. What’s next for my poetry is anybody’s guess, including mine!
