7. Fathom is (shockingly) good at call note summaries
After a sales person takes a discovery call with a prospect, they have to input the information into the customer relationship management (CRM) tool. This is where all of the customer data is stored, and you use it for identifying key prospects, following up, creating reports, etc. The process to input data is annoying though, and often takes up a lot of time for sales reps.
The only alternative I (thought I) had was hiring a cheaper executive assistant to watch recordings of my calls and manually enter them into the CRM. But I only have 1-4 calls per day. It wouldn’t be worth the money.
There was another solution though: AI summarization software. These tools joined your Zoom calls, recorded the meeting, then sent you follow up notes about the call.
As recently as 6 months ago, these tools weren’t good. We’ve been using Fathom since I began at ScaleView and at the beginning it wasn’t useful. The notes were too detailed and didn’t summarize the meeting.
But I reinstalled Fathom and it’s killer.
Here’s a redacted screenshot from my latest call:

I can copy / paste this into our CRM without any edits and it perfectly summarizes our call. This has been one of the best uses of AI that I use consistently for work-related tasks.
