Friday Chatter: Chaining

Not to be all “can you think of an example from your own life” (except, well, I am teaching on campus again this month and I am *very* “can you think of an example from your own life”) - but I’m still thinking about forward and backward chaining. Can you think of a book or film you liked that did a really good job of encouraging backward chaining - seeing something mysterious and needing to think about how it got to be that way? Or the reverse, encouraging forward changing - seeing a situation and needing to anticipate how it might develop? Can you think of a book or film that did both at once?
