GAAD was last Thursday, May 21 — but we're not done talking about it.

Global Accessibility Awareness Day is one day on the calendar. Making things accessible isn't. The whole point of GAAD is to get more people thinking about digital access for the billions of people who live with a disability, and that work doesn't have an end date.

Here's what you can do:

• Try a screen reader — NVDA is free on Windows, and VoiceOver is built into Apple devices. Even 10 minutes gives you a real sense of what blind and low-vision users navigate every day.
• Run a quick accessibility check — ta11y.org has checklists and evaluations you can actually use, not just read about.
• Get a free assessment — through October 30, you can get a free customized Accessibility Assessment Report at ela1000assessment.elahub.net. It'll show you where your gaps are and give you a roadmap.
• Post about GAAD — use #GAAD and #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay to keep the conversation going.
