Ukraine's Plan "Г"

Member of Parliament Mariana Bezuhla chairs the Rada’s special investigation committee looking into possible screw-ups involving Ukraine’s national security.

The doctor-turned-politician has never served in the military or in Ukraine’s intelligence services, although her Wikipedia page says she’s traveled to the war front in eastern Ukraine.

Bezhula for about an hour on September 10 briefed reporters about a “special intelligence event” involving former members of the Wagner Private Military Company (PMC) who were lured to Minsk in July 2020.

Unfortunately, her report raises more questions than it answered.

According to Bezuhla, Plan "Г" is the name of a contingency scenario worked up by Ukraine’s intelligence services under which a passenger airliner carrying Russian mercenaries from Minsk to Istanbul could have been forced to land in Ukraine (in order to arrest the mercenaries).

Plan "Г" reminds me a lot of Operation “Ы,” the name of a popular soviet-era comedy where the protagonist, a student, catches three burglars without help when they decide to rob a warehouse. The scene from the film that comes to mind is when one of the criminals practices for the crime by placing his handkerchief over the nostrils of ceramic cats.
