Day 10, Phase 2

Photo c/o Стопкор

The “vile purulence“ London-based practicing philosopher Vladimir Pastukhov told us about before the invasion started was on full display over the weekend for foreign photographers wandering around Kyiv’s northwestern suburbs (Iprin, Bucha, Borodyanka, Vorzel, Moshchun).

It’s too bad the world wasn’t paying attention when we experienced a similar nightmare nine years ago in Donbas. At the time, jingoism-resistant expats filed reports about pro-Russian separatist groups revolting against the government in Kyiv.

This time around, there are plenty of fingerprints, thanks to Tiger Team, drones, very public secret state intelligence, including SIGINT.

Pictures of the most recent carnage show us what Putin’s Special Operation in Ukraine is really all about. Humanitarian and legal aspects of the botched campaign will be investigated by international commissions for years.

Any army that robs and rapes civilians is not an effective fighting force. The collection of out-of-work mercenaries and untrained peasants sent to pillage towns around Kyiv is not a regular, combat-ready force, just a bunch of undisciplined licensed privateers, much like in Donbas nine years ago.

The three-hour plus video below, recorded from 11:30 to 15:00 on Saturday, April 2, 2022, documents them sending home loot at Russia-registered CDEK express delivery service on Kuibysheva street, 32 in Mazyr, Belarus.
