The Week In A Bad Education Towers #15

Week Ending 12th June 2022

Intro

Shooting from the hip this week, been a busy one; don’t need the details but I’d like to let you know right off that bat that the Argos 100 Night Comfort Promise is none of those things

A really big huge box of toys

Another reason for not having too much to stick in a newsletter is Fortnite; with the good lady wife away I did fancy finally getting around to fixing that broken DS Lite I’ve got hanging around. But the youngest has got back into Fortnite, what with the end of the last season having a big event, so we needed to spend most of the day grinding.

Now, I’ve nothing really against the game of Fortnite more about the way its laser focussed to get you to buy stuff. Putting that to one side, playing duos with the kids is fun especially since they kept in the ‘no building’ mode.

I’ve said before about how the game is like rummaging around in a toy box and slamming things together, and here you get Space Rock running along with Snake Eyes and all that. The story is hokum, but its the kind of hokum that makes me think of Saturday morning cartoons. And in a weird way it feels like Fortnite is a replacement for those 80s toy shows, or at least a new version. They were essentially adverts trying to get you to buy the merch, and thats pretty much what Fortnite does as well. My generation had Optimus Prime and He-Man, my son has Peely and Agent Jones.

Time is a weird thing.

What could have been

Predator was released 35 years ago today, heres what could have been:

Horror Losers @horrorlosers

Outro

Like I said, a short one this week. I need to get a podcast edited this week and try to at least plan out the next video but we’ll see. Oh, and fuck the Torys.

Anyways, bye!
