Read-a-Long Wrap-Up
Hello lovely readers!
We’re done reading! Thank you for joining me on this read-a-long. It was a delight to revisit Eden Abbey with you.
I hope you’ll continue the journey when the sequel, A Lady For All Seasons, comes out this very Tuesday, March 10. If you didn’t win last week’s giveaway, please consider ordering now or asking your local library to purchase it. If you pre-order before March 10, you can get a bonus short story starring Christopher and James which picks up where A Gentleman’s Gentleman leaves off and gently guides you, I hope, toward the next book. A bit spicy, a bit emotional!
Here’s a recap for Chapters 25 through the Epilogue:
Christopher is keeping himself busy around the estate when he hears someone skulking around. He rushes to the door in time to see Harding leaving with his bag. He chases after him, losing a slipper in the process. When a man loves his footwear as much as Christopher, you know this is serious.
They reach the footbridge again, both confused due to a miscommunication: Harding thought that Christopher’s note, which he left unread, was the signal that he was being fired; Christopher thinks that Harding wants to leave his post. As they argue about who’s at fault, they grapple with each other quite literally and fall into the pond. One last panic attack from Christopher before he realizes the pond is very shallow and they’re not in danger of drowning.
He makes his own proposal to James: that they marry each other as each other, not as husband and wife. It would mean relinquishing his title and land, but Christopher doesn’t care. Kiss, kiss, kiss! After 300+ pages, he finally tells Harding he loves him. And because he’s just realized what sort of romance novel he’s in, Harding finally says yes.
They bone in an extremely classy way.

An epilogue following a time jump! According to a solicitors’ letter, most of Christopher’s valuables were given to Horace and Belinda, while the house in London was left to Etienne. We see Christopher and Harding boarding a ship to America. They leave hand in hand.
THE END.
If you enjoyed the read, please consider leaving a review on whatever site(s) you would like. It helps me a lot in this age of algorithmic data.
And check out my upcoming events. I may be in your area soon to talk about the sequel. Cheers!
