Read-a-Long Preview
Hello dear readers! Thank you for joining me on this journey. We are going to be reading my trans Regency upstairs/downstairs romance A Gentleman’s Gentleman together over the next several weeks. You don’t NEED to be subscribed to this newsletter to participate—you can follow along on social media if that’s more your speed—but this weekly newsletter will offer recaps, giveaways, and Q&A’s I’ll be doing across the internet while this is going on. In short, you were very smart and attractive to have subscribed to this newsletter. And if you haven’t yet:
Here is all the information you need to prepare for the read-a-long.
First, you’ll need a copy of A Gentleman’s Gentleman. If you don’t have a physical copy in hand, now is the time to buy or borrow one. I recommend Bookshop or your local indie, but you could also see if your library has any copies available. In a pinch, the ebook or audiobook can be downloaded instantly. Check out the end of this newsletter for a chance to grab one in our kickoff giveaway.
Here’s our timeline. Newsletters will be sent every Sunday. We’ll be reading approximately 50 pages a week (totally doable!) except for the final week, which is intentionally a bit shorter so that anyone who needs extra time to catch up can.
Read-a-Long Schedule
Week of January 18 — Chapters 1–3
Week of January 25 — Chapters 4–8
Week of February 1 — Chapters 9–12
Week of February 8 — Chapters 13–15
Week of February 15 — Chapters 16–21
Week of February 22 — Chapters 22–25
Week of March 1 — Chapters 25–Epilogue
I will also be answering reader questions on social media during the read-a-long. Whether you have a general question or one that’s specifically about that week’s reading, you can message me/submit questions through my stories on instagram, @ me on bluesky, or send an ask on tumblr. Or you can reply to your newsletter emails to ask me anything! If I answer your question publicly, I’ll give you a shout-out. (Unless you want to be anonymous, in which case, just let me know.) If you’ve got a burning question to submit, start now. I’ll be giving random question-askers a few little treats, too.
Want to chat with other read-a-long readers? Join the Discord server. If people enjoy it, it may be put to use after the event as well!
And finally, through the generosity of Vintage Books, I have three audiobooks of A Gentleman’s Gentleman to give away to some lucky newsletter subscribers. Even if you already own a paperback or ebook copy, trust me, you want this story in your ears. It’s a beautifully produced audiobook and Harrison Knights was born to narrate it. Enter for your chance at this form.
Thank you again for joining me. See you next week as we start our reading!
