Back at it.
Drawing and painting keep me alive.

Hi folks!
I usually post an in progress image but I wanted to share this finished work that will be on display, along with 3 other works, at the Coos Art Museum at the end of October.
Roots & Visions: Celebrating Tribal Art will showcase work from The Coquille Indian Tribe, Confederated Tribes of Coos Bay, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Lower Umpqua, and Suislaw Indians.
I am honored to be included in this exhibit. The opening reception will be on October 25th. I am so excited to make my way to Oregon and see the show.
I am getting ready for open studios as well this weekend. I always feel less ready than I really am. This can feel super stressful, so before I let the feelings overtake me, I try to look at it as simply an opportunity to talk about my work. It’s a time to hang out with my studio mates and take time to just be with my work.
It usually works out, and I end up having a fun time. I really do like to share my process and see what other people get from the work. It’s like story time.
If you have some time this weekend please pop by!
Sat-Sun noon-5pm.

Latest Read: Kindred by Octavia E Butler. I read the graphic novel version. Sometimes graphic novels are easier to ingest certain content. Check it out at your local bookstore or even better, check it out from your local library!
Art Date: Pacific Northwest peeps! Shameless promotion. I am honored to have work in this show. Roots & Visions.
Inspiration: Dolly Parton. There were rumors swirling around about her health on the internet recently. I just saw her on the news letting us all know she is not at deaths door yet. So whew!
Shout Out: To those folks who are remembering our humanity. Treat each other with kindness.
