Office of the Township Manager Message

This November, Warminster Township residents reelected Board of Supervisors member, Ken Hayes-D, for a six-year term and elected Mary Owens-D, former member for a six-year term. Judy Hoover-D, chose not to seek re-election.

In addition, residents elected Nicole Rinier-D, for a four-year term to Tax Collector and Nikki Verwoerd-D, to a six-year term on the Board of Auditors.

When asked why he chose to run again, Hayes said, “I’m interested in continuing to keep Warminster Township financially stable and maintaining the best public safety services in the county.” His number one goal for the next six years is to finish Shenandoah Woods redevelopment as a park and to obtain additional state and federal funding in order to accomplish that goal. He said he is “honored and humbled by the residents” reelecting him and “will continue to represent all residents of the township.”

Hayes served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman during his tenure on the board. Before that, he was a former chair of the Environmental Advisory Council and former chair and member of the Budget committee, as well as a member of the Pension Investment Committee and an alternate on the Planning Commission. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Warminster Municipal Authority.

Rinier was appointed to fill the role of Barbara Loftus-D, who retired as Tax Collector after 25 years. Rinier chose to run for the position because she has always been invested in the community and is “dedicated to public service.” “As Warminster Tax Collector I serve as a resource and place of support for our community,” she said. Rinier has updated the tax system, bill format, added a check scanner and created a website and online presence on social media to “increase accessibility and save money for taxpayers,” she added.

Rinier served as Chief of Staff for State Representative Brian Munroe, (D-144th) for his first two years in office. At the time of her appointment, Munroe was quoted as saying, “The position of Tax Collector is not just collecting taxes; it’s helping people save money and giving them excellent constituent services.”

Rinier has a Master’s in Public Policy and a Master’s in Business Administration. She achieved the PA Qualified Tax Collector Certification, issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
