Our Next Zooniverse Transcription Session is Monday, May 2nd!
Hello Everyone,
Happy May Day! We at the Racial Restrictive Covenants Project would like to thank all of you for the time you have spent transcribing on Zooniverse! We currently have 116 volunteers and we have classified 1,658 documents! Thank you all so much for participating in this work. We couldn’t do it without you.
Additionally, we have added a “common restrictions” page to our website that you may find helpful! I have linked it here.This is a list of some of the restrictions encountered in our King County research. You may find it helpful to copy and paste rather than transcribing the longer restrictions.
We also have our next lunchtime transcription session tomorrow (May 2) at 12:30 pm. If you are new to volunteering on Zooniverse or have any questions about the process/work I invite you to attend. This is a 45 minute session in which we will explain and demonstrate how to classify documents on Zooniverse. The latter half of the session will be dedicated to volunteers being able to begin transcribing themselves, with a research associate from the project there to assist and answer any questions. If you are unable to attend this coming session, we have weekly transcription sessions on Monday’s that anyone can register for. You can register for whatever transcription session that works best for you down below. All transcription sessions require you to register in order to attend.
