Thereafter 2 Title and Schedule Announcement
The story of Therafter continues in Therafter Book 2: Voidhearts.
Hello, dear readers. I figure it's time for a slightly overdue announcement about book 2 of the Thereafter series. Thereafter 2: Voidhearts will continue the story of the Exalted Heroes through Alicia's point of view and will be released on an accelerated schedule compared to installment 1. Chapters will drop on the 1st, 10th, and 20th of every month, starting on July 1st. A brief back-of-the-book blurb for the book can be found below.
Now, I use some rather unambiguous language about the pace of releases, but truth be told, I am a bit behind schedule in preparing for this increased pace. I would be lying if I said this didn’t concern me, but until disaster strikes I will endeavor to keep going as it will not.
In short, while writing time has been plentiful, the opportunities to write have been decidedly more limited. A pinched nerve has seen me unable to sit upright for extended periods of time. This has seen me use my beloved desktop PC and primary writing tool considerably less, which has led to less writing.
All of that being said, I've been Down but not Out. I've taken many notes and even gotten a decent bit of outlining done, so I have confidence that at least for now I'll manage this release schedule, and if worst comes to worst I'll just go back to the biweekly releases again.
Now, if I happen to catch any new readers with this mail, I have the following plea. Please consider reading Book 1: The City After The End before getting started on Voidhearts. I intend to remind readers of the necessary details when appropriate, but I believe the emotional throughline will read better if you start at the beginning. It's all in the Archives after all.
With all this stuff said, I will close out with thanking you, the reader, for your interest and share the back of the book blurb for Voidhearts with you
The Void is merciless, but is it empty?
Alicia Thorn has a lot on her plate. The polycule is in shambles, which isn't her fault but it certainly is her problem, she recently alienated a close ally, that one probably is on her, and something is happening to the scavengers that depart from the refugee city of Thereafter to the surrounding voi; The latter problem looming large by threatening to cut the starving city from its one reliable source of supplies.
The vast clusters of parts and detritus of broken worlds floating in the void between worlds is an unpredictable and dangerous frontier; It also is where the scavenge is to be found, and where the scavengers disappear. Alicia joins up with the group to investigate, but gets more than she bargains for when a freak accident leaves her stranded in the void with the least accommodating company possible.
With limited air, no gravity and entirely too much ground to cover, Alicia has nothing to rely on but her wits, her power, and the measured diplomacy of broken hearts. Now if she could only shake the feeling they weren't alone out here…
Catch you in July
