Quick updates

I'm currently in the middle of a move and have no Internet access at home any more. Will have a longer update once the move is over but wanted to throw out some recent court victories. Apologies for not having my normal links as editing on my phone is… not great.

In one of the Abrego Garcia cases, discovery has been taking place for about two weeks. The government in that time has produced ONE document. They asked for an extension and the judge said no. Everything is due tomorrow.

Two separate courts have ruled that Trump's tariffs are illegal as he has no authority to implement them. SO many of the things he has done this year have been similar - actions he is not given any authority to take. The wider of these two decisions has an administrative stay in place which was expected. This will go to the Supreme Court. The Constitution and Law are clear on this matter - taxation power is a CONGRESSIONAL power.

Along these lines, the US Institute for Peace has returned to the building USDS (Doge) took from them at literal gunpoint. Like the tariffs, the issue here is that USIP is not part of the executive branch which means the executive branch has no authority to control them. This exact same issue is working its way through the courts regarding the Library of Congress.

It should be obvious which branch of government the Library of CONGRESS is under, but Trump has tried to install his lackeys there anyway. (Press Secretary Leavitt said the head librarian they're trying to fire was choosing to stock books which were not appropriate and letting teens check them out. The Library of Congress archives EVERY book hence she was not choosing anything, children are not allowed in the building, and the Library of Congress does not check out books to anyone.

Trump's attempt to stop Harvard from enrolling foreign students has been blocked by the courts.

Due to a court order, the government is arranging to return a man they illegally deported. This undercuts their argument on the Abrego Garcia case that they're powerless to do this exact thing.

The courts blocked ANOTHER one of the executive orders targeting law firms Trump doesn't like.

The courts blocked the dismantling of the Department of Education.

The courts blocked Trump's attempt to end congestion pricing in NYC.

The courts found the government violated an order not to deport several men who were on their way to South Sudan when they judge blocked the flight.

Apologies for any mistakes in here since I'm skipping my normal editing process!
