Welcome to my first newsletter! For those not in the know, I’ve been writing extensively about Donald Trump and politics for 9 years now, largely in a blog you may find here. As you can see, I mostly abandoned this after the election, naively thinking his political career was over.

With the 2024 election nearing, I decided to restart my writing in a new format.

Who am I? Why am I here? (Shoutout to Admiral Stockdale)

I check most vanilla boxes out there - I’m middle aged, white, cis, hetero, and living in Texas. I have a marketing degree I seldom use. I was a third party / protest voter for most of my life. I now vote straight party Democrat and do not foresee that ever changing due to the threat the Republican Party poses. I am hyper-online and have been involved in politics for over 30 years. I was an ACLU member before I had a driver’s license, helped form a Young Democrats chapter in high school, and got insanely excited when I saw Leon Panetta in a parking lot outside the Old Executive Office Building when I was 16.

What’s this about?

Most of my friends are not as plugged in as I am. I started formally writing in order to provide summations and commentary about Donald Trump news. This newsletter will be a continuation of that. While I may occasionally bring up other issues, the focus here will be Trump, the election, and his numerous trials.

Are you monetizing this?

Yes and no. I previously set up on Patreon and offered occasional exclusive updates for subscribers. I am not currently planning on exclusives again, but have set up a Ko-Fi site for donations. Anything is appreciated.

I am hoping to send out 2, possibly 3 emails a week summarizing the stories I find pertinent. I will try my best not to exceed that. In the past, these updates have largely consisted of quick bullet points about Trump stories with my brief comments on them. I hope this will be an easy way for you to stay informed. I have a collection of stories ready to go already and should get that out tomorrow, but I wanted to introduce myself and the new format to you.
