America's Open Embrace of Racism
Occasionally while working on an update, I come across something so maddening, I’m stopped in my tracks.
Jumping to the chase, the anti “DEI” purge by the Trump administration is about nothing other than racism. Arguments against diversity programs are post-hoc rationalizations. They hate them and want them gone because they are racists.
They have been working to delete any and all references to the accomplishments of women and minorities with alarming speed but I haven’t seen anything like what just happened.
Major General Charles Rogers received the Medal of Honor for his actions in Vietnam. He risked his life, while wounded, to save the lives of others.
The Pentagon until yesterday had a page on their website honoring Major General Rogers’s achievements. As he is a black man, that page has been removed.
That’s happened across the entire federal government to countless women and minorities - their achievements erased by Donald Trump’s bigotry.
But they took this a step further.
The URL for the now deleted page has also been changed. It describes the award given for Rogers’s selfless heroism as a “DEI Medal of Honor.”
The Donald Trump administration is saying that Rogers was only awarded the Medal of Honor for being black.
This is what we are up against. Don’t let people argue this is about fairness, meritocracy, or any of their other excuses.
The reason is they are racists.
And we must fight back.

As the Department of Defense has removed information about Rogers’s heroism, you may read about it here. My heart broke reading about Rogers overcoming the racism he grew up with in the 40s and 50s.
