Canadian Indie Bookstore Day @ the Trident! TOMORROW!
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 26th 2025, is Canadian Indie Bookstore Day! Bookstores all over Canada will be hosting their own events and sales, and we’re no exception.
Trident Halifax going to become a full-fledged bookfair! We will be opening up our back room (the kitchen and workspace) and FILLING it with books that have never seen the shelves. Come browse the tables for deals like:
$5 Hardcovers!
$5 Naked Books! (Hardcovers, old and new, without dustjackets)
$10 Reading Club Packs! (Read the same book as a friend, meet and discuss over coffee and cookies!)
In addition, Trident will be participating in the HRM Bookstore Passport. Drop by any participating bookstore to pick up your passport, and see if you can hit all nine shops by May 4th! If you get a stamp from all 9 shops, you can turn in your completed passport to any of the stores for entry into a draw for a bookish swag bag!
Each shop will be hosting its own draw, so submit where you want to win! Trident will be giving away a King’s Co-op book tote with a Trident Mug, art card, free coffee vouchers, and bookmarks!

Finally, the Canadian Independent Bookstore Association is hosting the CIBD 2025 Contest For Book Lovers! Enter for a chance to win a $1000 gift card to the indie bookstore of your choice. Trident isn’t directly participating in this promotion (as a used bookstore, we cannot be CIBD members), but we’d encourage you to enter from any of the other incredible indie shops in your community!
