April Events @ the Trident! (And new hours!)

This email has been late coming: we’re already ten days into the month! I blame the weather, or the swift passage of time. Nevertheless, there is lots left to report.

New Hours!

Starting THIS SUNDAY, April 13th, Trident Halifax will be OPEN on Sunday nights! We will be extending our hours to 9pm like every other night of the week.

THAT SAID, please note:

Easter Holiday Hours!

Trident Halifax will be CLOSED on Friday, April 18th 2025 and Sunday, April 20th 2025 for Easter. We will be open for shortened hours on Monday: 8am-5pm. Back to normal on Tuesday!

April Events!

We have all kinds of events in April, especially around the weekend of April 26th and Canadian Independent Bookseller Day! The lineup so far:

April 10th: A star-plated lineup of poets for National Poetry Month! Annick MacAskill, Anna Quon, Clare Goulet, Nanci Lee, and Nolan Natasha will be reading and chatting tonight from 7pm!

April 17th: Futures of the Sun discussion celebrating the launch of Imre Szeman’s new book, interviewed by Scott Stoneman.

April 24th: Music night featuring Kokomanti and the North Star, Elementals, ga & Abbey!

April 25th: Double launch! Christine Wu & Jessica Bebenek will be launching new collections from Anansi Press!

April 26th: Canadian Independent Bookseller Day! Pick up your Halifax Bookstore Passport and visit all of us for a chance to win some great book-y prizes. At Trident, we’ll be having a huge sale on hardcovers, naked books, reading date packs, and more! We’ll be opening the back to maximize browsing space. It’s gonna be a blast!

April 30th: Remembering poet Joseph Sherman through the launch of a new collection of his work, In Loving Riddles, with editor Brian Bartlett.

Trident Halifax at ABEbooks.com!

We are now listing our more valuable and rare books online at abebooks.com and biblio.com. We’d rather sell them locally face to face, though, so if you see anything you like, we’re happy to show it! Just email in advance so we can make sure the book of interest is on-site. In-person prices will be lower than online! We’re just starting to catalogue, so new books are being added daily. Check back!

And on and on…

As ever, there is always more. Keep an eye on our website at tridenthalifax.ca or our Instagram for the latest.

Have an event you’d like Trident to host? Drop us an email at tridenthalifax@eastlink.ca and let me know what you have in mind! We have lots of space on our calendar and are always happy to lend space to the community!

Cheers!
