D&D 5E - #charactercreationchallenge

The 5th edition of D&D is the most recent in a long line, dating back to the 1970s. I've played in and run games as a Dungeon Master in this edition and many of the intervening ones. It is also a suitable place to start with the #charactercreationchallenge.

Characters have 6 primary statistics that are generated by totaling the highest 3d6 of a 4d6 roll six times, then assigning them at player's choice. I used only the 5E player's handbook, though add-ons are available.

Engilbart Oakbottom is a Halfling Sorcerer with a natural inclination to Wild Magic. He is male, roughly 3'3" tall and weight of 35 pounds. If found in Greyhawk, he would be referred to as a hairfeet style halfling. His hair is silvery and his eyes are bluish grey.

  • Strength 11 (+0)
  • Dexterity 11 (+0)
  • Constitution 15 (+2)
  • Intelligence 5 (-3)
  • Wisdom 12 (+1)
  • Charisma 18 (+4)

He is naturally stealthy, lucky, and brave. His background is as a sailor, or perhaps pirate - he has a bad reputation. He speaks Common and Halfling. He knows the skills of Athletics, Deception, Insight, and Perception. His cantrips are Chill Touch, Fire Bolt, Mending, and Prestidigitation. His first level spells are Charm Person and Comprehend Languages. He wears no armor, and prefers darts as a missile weapon and dagger as a melee weapon.
