Another year, another 85 books read. I use GoodReads to track my books read, and here's what I found. Categories courtesy of Powell's; Dewey Decimal because that's what the local library uses.
I read 42 fiction books, of which 10 were series fiction. On average, the series titles scored lower (3.3) than the non-series (3.69).
I read 43 non fiction. Per the Dewey Decimal system, they were from:
- 000 Computer science, information & general works
- 100 Philosophy and psychology
- 200 Religion
- 8 300 Social sciences
- 400 Language
- 4 500 Science and mathematics
- 5 600 Technology
- 18 700 Arts and recreation (mostly 79x - Recreation and Performing Arts)
- 800 Literature
- 5 900 History, geography
- 3 Biography
The earliest published book this year for me was 1910 - The Magic City by E. Nesbit. The most recently published book read this year was The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern from September.
Finally, according to goodreads I read 24,699 pages in 2011. That works out to an average of 291 pages per book, and 68 pages per day. Whew!
