...China, and loses!
Yesterday I was in the pub and got chatting to someone I hadn’t met before, all was fine…until we got onto the subject of China. I’ve been to China and as a result I’ve studied it quite a bit.
I made the case that from what I’ve researched, the Chinese are much happier with their style of government than the populations of any western ‘democracies’ are with theirs…I’ll come back to that later.
He disagreed, very strongly…to the point there was no point continuing the conversation.
So, before I move onto why I believe what I believe regarding China…rightly or wrongly, let’s have a look at a couple of myths (lies) about the ‘tyrannical’ Chinese government…
In this BBC article, about the Tiananmen Square ‘Massacre’, as in most of the mainstream media, you’ll see claims like this…
‘In 1989 Beijing's Tiananmen Square became the focus for large-scale protests, which were crushed by China's Communist rulers.
On 3 to 4 June, troops began to move towards Tiananmen Square, opening fire, crushing and arresting protesters to regain control of the area.
At the end of June 1989, the Chinese government said 200 civilians and several dozen security personnel had died.’
But if the following article’s claims are accurate, and I have no reason to doubt them, those things did not happen there…
Tiananmen Square: The Failure of an American-instigated 1989 Color Revolution
‘There is overwhelming documented evidence from a multitude of reputable sources that no violence occurred in the Square, that no students were killed, and that there never was any “Tiananmen Square Massacre”. Gunfire was apparently heard in the distance, but the few reports of gunfire from within the Square itself were later quickly discredited and, as mentioned above, the soldiers in the Square were not armed.’
On the same day, there was a ‘workers protest’ in Muxidi, five or six kilometres from Tiananmen Square…
‘The enormity of violence unleashed at Muxidi requires considerable prior emotional programming and could not possibly have originated spontaneously from a simple workers’ strike, almost a guarantee of external interference.’
Who might that be?
‘There is little reason to question the assertion that a major part of US foreign policy then, as today, lay in attempts to destabilise China and perhaps instigate a massive revolution that would open the door to US influence and control.’
CIA (and probably NATO)?
The other big lie is…
Uyghur activists protest in US, urge UN to act on genocide by China
The World Uyghur Congress (WUC)…who are they?
‘From its inception, the WUC has been backed by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). With millions in US taxpayer money, the NED and its subsidiaries have backed opposition parties, “civil society” groups, and media organizations in countries targeted by the US for regime change.’
CIA Behind Uyghur Propaganda and Scheme to Demonize and Destabilize China
‘The then-poor Chinese province (Xinjiang) that hardly anybody outside China had ever heard of now looks radically different after a successful campaign of modernizing its cities, setting up new hospitals and schools, building more than 20 airports, creating numerous jobs in modern factories, mechanizing its agriculture, and linking the region with bullet trains.’
This is one reason why I believe, regardless of what our corrupt politicians and corrupt media tell us, that the Chinese are for the most part, happy with the way their country is run.
Here are some more…
‘It's a standard assumption in the West: As a society progresses, it eventually becomes a capitalist, multi-party democracy. Right? Eric X. Li, a Chinese investor and political scientist, begs to differ. In this provocative, boundary-pushing talk, he asks his audience to consider that there's more than one way to run a successful modern nation.’
I’ve watched this (from 2013) many times now, here are some interesting screenshots from it…
Britain not doing too well!
In another (different) survey in 2016
‘95.5 percent of respondents were either “relatively satisfied” or “highly satisfied” with Beijing.’
He also says in the video that 650 million people have been lifted out of poverty…that figure has risen since then. (from 2022)
China lifts 800m people out of poverty over 40 years, accounting for 75% of global poverty reduction
As I said earlier, I’ve been to China, it was for the 2005 Chinese New Year celebrations. Everyone was on holiday and celebrating, the family of the Chinese girl I was with all live in China. We did a fair bit of travelling and met lots of people along the way, but I never heard a single complaint about the government. Strange when you have a genocidal dictator who oppresses the people, as president…don’t you think?
…change my mind!
