When I was 25 I left NYC to move to Northern Thailand. I learned the language, started training Muay Thai, and married a Thai.

The experiences I’ve had on this life line have changed me in so many myriad ways. And I realized very quickly that what most people consider “traveling” is carefully curated to keep them in their comfort zone.

But the real magic of travel is when you leave that zone. That’s where growth, change, glory and light come from.

The Side Door is all about revealing raw & unique experiences, adventures and stays that will change how you think and see the world.

Small hotels run by people who never intended to be in hospitality. Guesthouses tucked into the sides of mountains. Bars that don't have a sign out front.

The kind of places you only hear about from someone who's immersed in that landscape.
