The Straw That Broke The Camel's Back
I will be moving...
Hi all. Just to let you know that following Substack’s decision to nail their colours firmly to the mast of the rights of Nazis to speak freely on their platform (whilst denying those same rights to sex workers), I just don’t feel that I can in all conscience continue to use the platform. If this is all new to you, there’s a good writeup on the Verge.
It’s a shame as from a technical point of view, Substack was exactly what I was looking for: a mailing list crossed with a blog with good editing tools.
I don’t know where I’ll go to. It won’t be right away as I down with some kind of lurgy at the moment and I don’t the energy or the mental bandwidth. I’ve heard good things about Buttondown, but I understand it’s $29 a month, and that’s quite a lot for something that right now is a purely amateur venture with a relative handful of subscribers. If any of you have any suggestions, please let me know. I really would be grateful for any pointers.
The Nexus Files is free to read. But if you subscribe you'll get new posts emailed to your inbox automatically, and I won't feel like I'm pointlessly screaming into the void.
