You reap what you sow...
Meet me on the equinox
Hey, peach.
Mabon and the autumn equinox sit before you. It marks the second of three harvest festivals in the wheel of the year — traditionally a time to reap what you've sown. It's also a good time to look back on the garden you planted in March. Did you manage to bring any of your goals to fruition?
In the interest of reaping the energy you sow, I thought this would be a cool time to look at a writing exercise from author and self-proclaimed 'word witch', Lisa Marie Basile. In her book The Magical Writing Grimoire, Lisa shares a list-making practice she uses to get her creative juices flowing when she sits down to write. For her, it's a quick, easy way to focus, slow down the mind, and cast intentions out into the universe.
By sending energy out with a list, perhaps you'll get it back three-fold? Worth a try, eh?!
Scribble out one of these lists next time you start a new writing project and see how it feels!

List-making practices for writing goals and inspiration
For this exercise, you'll only need a notebook and pen. Lisa recommends holding a citrine gemstone for added energy and inspiration, but if you don't have one, it's no biggie.
List one: aspirations
Make a list of all the words that describe how you want to feel once you've started this writing project or once you've completed it. Conjure your future reality by listing out words that describe the outcome — how will this project impact the world? The customers? The company founder? What could it bring to you and what's the ultimate version of success in this scenario?
List two: mood
Make a list of the words that describe the mood of the project. This tends to work very well for poetry or a campaign designed to elicit a strong emotional response from your target customer or reader. Is this sombre? Does it induce outrage or guilt? Does the project need to feel empowering? Get it all down on paper with as many adjectives around a theme as you can muster.
List three: objects
Lisa's final list has to do with curating the objects in your writing space as a means of getting in the zone. Make a list of all the objects that you feel you need for your writing. Let's get specific with this one — describe your favourite notebook, pen, the objects on your desk or in the room. Mentally create a space that fuels your best writing.

Harvest Moon – 10th September
The arrival of the September harvest moon means things are about to get snuggly AF. This moon is traditionally used as a celebration of hearth and home, which makes it a great time to revamp your home office.
The harvest moon is often celebrated with comfort food, which means I'll be spending September eating Tiramisu and vegetarian moussaka.
Finally, the harvest moon is a time to give thanks for all the good shit you've enjoyed in 2022. Maybe you'd like to list everything you've achieved so far? Big or small, it's all a win.
