Hey peach, how’s it going?
It’s lucky you caught me! Friday is my last day in the office for 2022. I’ll be downing tools and clocking off for a whole two weeks. Before I do, I’ll be banking my creative fires. That is to say, I’ll be looking back over all my wins for the year.
In January, I started recording my weekly wins on a spreadsheet (you can see it here). Every Friday morning, I’d open my sheet and log anything good that happened during the week. Everything from defending a boundary to getting published. Big or small, doesn’t matter. If it made me feel even vaguely sassy, it counted as a win and went on the sheet.
Before I shut my laptop for the year, I’ll open that sheet back up and scroll through it in all its glory. Each column will remind me why I love my job. It’ll help guide me when planning my business goals for 2023, too — which of these wins would I like to see more of in the future?
Finally, going back over my sheet is a very tangible reminder that not all business growth is monetary. Sometimes growth looks like taking a sick day without guilt-tripping yourself. Or posting on LinkedIn every day for a week.
Each win is a reminder of what I’m capable of. It’s a fantastic way of properly quantifying the year’s progress, so I can sign off feeling fulfilled and proud of myself — something us freelancers seem to struggle with.
So, I’ll leave you with that. Bank your fires, guys. Keep that positive confidence burning and come back blazing in 2023.

Freelance focus: staying small with the Three of Wands (inverted)
Your focus for January is to think about staying small. If you’re someone who habitually sets over-ambitious targets at the start of every year, this is a sign to be kinder to yourself. Break those targets into bite-sized pieces and remember to be patient. Take it one step at a time and go with the flow.
The Three of Wands is also a reminder not to think too small when it comes to growth. Don’t hobble yourself with limiting beliefs about your ability or potential next year — you’ll only end up stunting your own growth and hindering your creative potential. Start the new year with a gentle, kind mindset and a strong foundation of self-belief, and I bet you’ll absolutely smash it.
